Our Privacy Philosophy
btcswapxmr.com is built around privacy. We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the service and nothing more. We do not sell, share, or monetize user data. This policy explains what limited data we do collect and why.
What We Do Not Collect
We do not collect or store:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identifiers
- Government-issued ID or KYC documentation of any kind
- Cookies that track you across websites
- Browser fingerprints for identification purposes
- Payment method information beyond what is inherent to the blockchain
What We Do Collect
To operate the exchange service, we temporarily log the following per order:
- Blockchain addresses: The deposit address we generate and the recipient address you provide — these are necessary to process your exchange and are stored for a limited period for support purposes.
- Transaction amounts and hashes: Required to verify deposits and dispatch outputs.
- Order creation timestamp: For order management and expiry.
- IP address (server logs): Standard web server logs containing IP addresses are retained for up to 14 days for abuse prevention and then deleted. We do not use IP addresses to build profiles or link orders together.
We do not link your IP address to your exchange orders in any persistent database.
Blockchain Transparency
Cryptocurrency transactions are recorded on public blockchains. Bitcoin transactions are fully transparent and traceable. Monero transactions are private by protocol design — amounts, senders, and recipients are hidden on the Monero blockchain. Our handling of blockchain addresses is subject to the inherent properties of each network.
Third-Party Services
We use the CoinGecko API to fetch live exchange rate data. CoinGecko may log the IP of the request to their API, but we do not send any user-identifying information to them. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other advertising or tracking third-party services.
Tor and VPN Users
We support access via Tor Browser and VPN services. Users who access the site via Tor will have their exit node IP logged in server logs (not their real IP). We do not block Tor exit nodes.
Data Retention
Order data is retained for 90 days for support purposes, after which it is permanently deleted. Server access logs are deleted after 14 days.
Your Rights
Since we collect no personal data and cannot identify you, traditional data subject rights (access, rectification, erasure) cannot be meaningfully applied. However, if you believe we have inadvertently collected identifiable information about you and wish to request its deletion, contact us through our support form with your order ID.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
